J-STAGE20周年記念シンポジウム「学術コミュニケーションの展望」

講演概要
Scholarly communication is an ecosystem, one in which many different participants play very different roles in the creation, processing, dissemination, and consumption of new knowledge. This ecosystem has always been complex, but in recent years it has increasingly come to be characterized by conflict as well. This conflict has been brought on by massive and fundamental changes to our information environment, changes that have made possible radically new ways of publishing and sharing information; the conflict arises from differing views about how these new capabilities should be exploited. Eventually these conflicts will be resolved. What can we reasonably anticipate about how they will be resolved, and what can we do to prepare for possible future scenarios?

学術コミュニケーションは一つのエコシステムであり、その中では新しい知識の創造、処理、普及、消費において数多くの関係者が様々な役割を果たしている。このエコシステムは常に複雑なものであったが、近年は対立という構図によっても特徴付けられるようになった。この対立は我々を取り巻く情報環境が大規模かつ根本的に変化したことによりもたらされた。情報環境の変化により、新たな方法での情報の公開や共有が可能になった。そうした新しい力がどのように活用されるべきかについての異なる見方がこの対立を生じさせているが、それはやがて解消されるだろう。その過程に関して我々が合理的に予想できることとは何か、そして将来的に起こり得るシナリオに備えるために我々は何ができるだろうか。

講演者略歴
Rick Anderson is Associate Dean for Collections & Scholarly Communication in the J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah. He earned his B.S. and M.L.I.S. degrees at Brigham Young University, and has worked previously as a bibliographer for YBP, Inc., as Head Acquisitions Librarian for the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and as Director of Resource Acquisition at the University of Nevada, Reno. He serves on numerous editorial and advisory boards and is a regular contributor to the Scholarly Kitchen blog. A collection of his essays titled Libraries, Leadership and Scholarly Communication was published in 2016 by ALA Editions, and his book Scholarly Communication: What Everyone Needs to Know was published in 2018 by Oxford University Press. In 2005, Rick was identified by Library Journal as a “Mover & Shaker” – one of the “50 people shaping the future of libraries.” In 2008 he was elected president of the North American Serials Interest Group, and he was named an ARL Research Library Leadership Fellow for 2009-10. In 2013 Rick was the recipient of the HARRASSOWITZ Leadership in Library Acquisitions Award and was the Gould Distinguished Lecturer on Technology and the Quality of Life at the University of Utah. In 2015 he was elected President of the Society for Scholarly Publishing. He is a popular speaker on subjects related to the future of scholarly communication and research libraries.

講演概要
J-STAGEや商業出版社等提供の学術情報流通のためのプラットフォームは、デジタル化された現代における学術研究の展開、推進に重要な役割を担っており、これらのプラットフォームは、20世紀における学術論文雑誌の印刷、頒布に代わって、現代の学術コミュニケーションに不可欠の存在となっている。この講演では、プラットフォームの登場と発展の歴史的側面を学術研究の社会的位置づけの変化や社会におけるコミュニケーションの様態のデジタル化などと関係させて論じ、さらに学術情報のオープンアクセス化、「プラットフォーム」型サービス統合など昨今の展開を踏まえて、日本におけるオンライン学術定期刊行物の将来と、J-STAGEに期待される役割などについて考察する。

講演者略歴
土屋 俊（つちや しゅん）
現在、大学評価・学位授与機構特任教授。日本学術振興会奨励研究員を経て、1982年以来、千葉大学文学部助教授、教授として2011年まで、言語哲学、形式意味論、科学技術史、論理学、論理学史、心の哲学、認知科学、音声対話、文書処理、情報倫理、図書館情報学を中心に教育研究に従事。あわせて、総合情報処理センター長、附属図書館長等として大学の情報インフラの整備に関与。2018年「我が国のジャーナルの振興に向けたJ-STAGE中長期戦略」を策定した外部有識者によるJ-STAGEアドバイザリー委員会にて委員長を務める。

講演概要
日々大量の学術論文が英語で出版されており、研究者はその中から自分にとって重要なものを見つけなくてはならない。英語を母国語としない者、特に若い研究者にとっては、読むべき論文かどうかを判断するのにも時間を要する。このような課題を解決するために、AIを利用して学術論文の要約を自動生成するサービスである「Paper Digest」が開発された。2018年7月にベータ版を公開し、現在までに120カ国以上から約9000人のユーザーに利用されている。本発表では、Paper Digestのこれまでの開発と今後の取り組みについて紹介するとともに、これからの学術コミュニケーションに対して、アカデミックスタートアップがどのように貢献できるかについて考察する。

宮入 暢子（みやいり のぶこ）
東京を拠点にフリーランスとして、学術コミュニケーションにおける新規ビジネス開発とスタートアップに関する戦略コンサルティングに従事。筑波大学図書館情報メディア研究科講師（2019-）、筑波大学国際戦略会議外部委員（2012-2015, 2018-）、物質・材料研究機構デジタルライブラリー専門委員会委員（2016-）など。過去にはORCID (http://orcid.org)のアジア・太平洋地区ディレクター、ネイチャー・パブリッシング・グループ（現SpringerNature）のカスタム出版ディレクター、トムソン・ロイター（現Clarivate Analytics）の東南アジアビジネス開発主任コンサルタントなど。ハワイ大学マノア校図書館情報学修士。

高野 泰朋（たかの やすとも）
Paper Digest共同創業者。株式会社JIYU Laboratories 代表取締役社長として、大学・研究機関などに対して科学技術の動向把握に関するコンサルティング・分析を提供。東京大学未来ビジョン研究センター（旧・政策ビジョン研究センター）特任研究員(2017-)、東京大学国際オープンイノベーション機構サブ知財戦略マネージャー(2018-)、東京工業大学環境・社会理工学院特別研究員(2017-)などを兼任。その他、独立行政法人経済産業研究所プロジェクトメンバー(2017-2018)、日本学術振興会特別研究員DC2(2015-2017)など。東京工業大学技術経営博士。

Cristian Mejia
Dr.Cristian Mejia is co-founder of Paper Digest (https://www.paper-digest.com/), a service generating automatic summarization of academic articles using artificial intelligence, also CTO of JIYU Laboratories, Inc. (https://jiyu-labs.com/) that offers consulting and analytics of science and technology trends. He is also a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Innovation Science at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. His research interests include quantitative science studies, structure of knowledge, and methods for linking social issues and science and technology. He holds a Ph.D in Innovation Management.

講演概要
2016年度からNHK・Eテレで放送されてきた「ろんぶ～ん」。一般的には難解である論文をMC・田村淳（ロンドンブーツ1号2号）とともに読み解く番組で、過去に22回放送、70本以上の論文を取り上げてきた。本来は専門家に向けて書かれた論文、それを視聴者にわかりやすく伝えたるためにどのようにアプローチしているのか、また番組OAに対する視聴者の反応、さらには企画の成り立ちまで、番組制作の舞台裏を明かす。

小宮 大（こみや だい）
日本放送協会 制作局第1制作ユニット（教育・次世代ジャンル）ディレクター。2009年NHK入局。Eテレ「ろんぶ～ん」の企画段階から携わる。そのほか過去の担当番組は「ねほりんぱほりん」「Rの法則」「ディープピープル」など。
