Abstract

The axial profile evolutions of electron density and temperature in spherical tokamak plasma formed by merging method were measured by Thomson scattering measurement system in UTST device. The peak electron density at X-point decayed just after merging, then it regrew up to 5 × 1019 m-3, which would provide high charge exchange efficiency for 25keV neutral beam injection.
