Abstract
This paper investigates pre-war local drawing education, following the authorʼs research on “Jiyuga” education in Akita Prefecture. Focusing on the start of “Jiyuga” in Akita Sakigake Shimpo, the local painter Yata Ito, who was in charge of “Jiyuga” selection and review, was analyzed and discussed from the perspective of drawing education. Results confirmed that Ito understood drawing education from an artistic perspective.
