Abstract

"Pata-pata" is a result of the collaborative project between Igarashi lab, Univ. Tsukuba and Teikokukizai Co., Ltd. This project is aimed to develop a new wooden furniture for the school environment. This product is a school furniture that inspired from the Japanese traditional toy called "Patapata (Jacob's ladder)" The basic unit is made up of four ladder-shaped panels that are connected to each other by belts. This structure can transform flexibly and through laying a board between ladders, you can expand the way of use. Through its various possibility of use, pata-pata is set to meet demands of the current school environment.
