Abstract
"Aoihana" is a house designed as a final home for an elderly couple. We designed the house to realize their wish to live in their own house without trouble by providing comfortable environment as they get older. We investigate the relationship between brain science, human engineering and psychology for elderly people.
The basic data obtained by the research prompted us to propose the following four concepts:
1)harmonizing daylight with lighting environment.
2) zone-izing of interior.
3) humor-izing of function.
4) producing of living space using materials and colors.
The purpose of "Aoihana" is to realize the concept of the living environment for elderly people to keep living for a longer time by the stimulating the sensitivity and improving the function and performance.
