The changes of cerebrovascular hemodynamics and electrogastrogram by some major fragrances were studied. Some significant effects of the major fragrances on the cerebral circulation and gastric motility were suggested, and opposite actions of Lavender and Rosemary or Chamomile on physiological parameters were revealed. Subjective senses by the major fragrances such as relaxing, refreshing, likes/dislikes feeling were significantly correlated with the physiological changes such as interhemisphric EEG coherence, pulsatility index from the cerebral vascular velocity and deoxy Hb concentration of the frontal lobe according to the logistic regression analysis. It was also indicated that refreshing feeling by the fragrances may be related to the change of cerebrovascular hemodynamics.
