This work presents parametric survey results obtained by the 3-D hexagonal multi-group discrete ordinate transport code NSHEX for FBR Monju initial critical core. A significant dependence of the effective multiplication factor on energy group approximation has been identified by both discrete ordinate and Monte Carlo transport analysis.
