A burnable poison loading principle is proposed for HTGR cores with once-through refueling scheme by which an axial power peaking factor can be minimized when k-inf of the fuel pebbles is kept constant during their axial movement from the top to the bottom of the core by adding BP. This study aims to confirm effectiveness of the principle through neutronic and thermal analyses of the core.
