Deuteron-induced neutron production reactions on lithium are studied for energies up to 50 MeV. The diffractive breakup and stripping processes, which are the major direct processes, are analyzed using the continuum-discretized coupled-channels (CDCC) method and the Glauber model, respectively. The relative contributions to the Li(d,xn) cross sections are discussed.
