The future thermal demand in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia will be increased by approximately 280 MWth and 1160 MWth in two kinds of scenario.
To supply it a small sized, modular district heating reactor with passive safety feature for long core life is designed in our study. The reactor size (4 meter of radius, 8 meter of height) was roughly estimated when there is no any active cooling system. Fundamental analyses of the reactor for criticality and burn-up were performed by using MVP code.
