Li2TiO3 is a promising candidate for tritium breeding material in the blanket of fusion reactor. Studying of tritium transfer and release process in Li2TiO3 is indispensable for the blanket design and fuel cycle. In the present study, Li2TiO3 single-crystal samples (plate and powder) were prepared by a flux method. Samples were heated in D2O atmosphere for absorption, and then the deuterium release process could be observed in TDS system. With the sample size decreasing, the changes of peak position and inventory in TDS spectra due to bulk diffusion process and surface processes were investigated and compared with LiNbO3, which was studied as a testing material.
