Hatching Inhibitory Factor in the Cyst Contents of the Soybean Cyst Nematode, Heterodera glycines ICHINOHE (Tylenchida : Heteroderidae)

The existence of a hatching inhibitory factor in the cyst contents of Heterodera glycines ICHINOHE was confirmed by the following results. 1. The hatching rate was greatly increased by washing of the eggs freed from the cysts with distilled water. 2. Such an increase was decreased to varying degrees in aqueous extract of crushed cysts depending on its concentration. 3. Such a decrease was not observed in a water suspension of cyst wall fragments.
