The seismic damage by the earthquake (M.5.9) occurred in the Northern part of Nagano Prefecture in 1986 are mainly distributed inside the "Omine Block" which was uplifted in the Quaternary. These damages were concentrated along the faults which develop within the Omine Block and in the crossing parts of them. These faults extend to the NW-SE, NE-SW or N-S direction and construct small rhomboid blocks. In Makinoshima, Shinshu-shinmachi and Horinouchi, Hakuba-mura, the bibration was clearly different from the other side bordered by the fault. The spotted areas of the seismic damage are confirmed in various parts. Several ones have been damaged by the past earthquakes.
