A nearly complete fossil fish was recovered from the Middle Pleistocene Iwabuchi Formation of the Ihara Group at Minami-Matsuno, Fuji City, Shizuoka, Japan. The horizon in which the specimen was found was dated about 0.57 to 0.58 million years ago based on the correlated volcanic ash layer. Since the last dorsal finery produced filamentous and long, the specimen is identified by the Dorosomatinae. The specimen has potential to be an important in order to understand the evolution and the history of distribution of the Dorosomatinae in the West Pacific coastal area.
