Abstract

In this study, we tried to make it clear that it is useful to design cell models by applying Genetic Algorithm (GA) to the room layout problem in the operation division of hospital in case of 'AN APPROACH TO THE OPTIMUM LAYOUT OF SINGLE-STOREY BUILDINGS (AOLSB)' and make sure the efficiency of applying GA in divergent thinking process. Secondly, we compared the cell model which we made with AOLSB's allocation model by objective function which minimizes total cost of people moving between rooms. As a result, we achieved several cell models, whose fitness values are as excellent as in AOLSB.
