This paper deals with Bernini's first project for the Louvre palace from the point of view of Bernini's way of adjustment of his new building to the old buildings. In conclusion, Bernini's east elevation having projections at both ends is regarded as the result of the adjustment to the height of the old buildings. In the plan of Bernini's project, he makes the main wing of the east wing, so the distinction between the east-west axis and the north-south axis is more conspicuous than in the other architects' projects.
