Abstract

This study aims to clarify the structural changes in the exterior of the apartment houses built by the Japan Housing Corporation (JHC) and the user's behavior with regard to the structural changes. The results are as follows:
1. Apartment housing development shows remarkable changes in terms of scale, number, and structure.
2. In terms of size and age, the structures of the apartment houses were classified into seven types.
3. Apartment houses have a diversity of exterior spaces and therefore are a potential environmental resource.
