Abstract

There is an “Illegality” on people's activity like hawkers on street. It can be considered coexistence of the spontaneous order as “code” and free behavior without restriction from the law. With that background, Hawker's behavior was analyzed through the comparison with the cases of 4 South-East Asian Cities based on following 3 aims.
1. To show the effective utilization through a classification of eating activities on the street as an urban public space.
2. To discover the “code” developed from hawker's relations between themselves as a making spontaneous order with their unspoken agreement.
3. To obvious the relationship between citie's “code“ and people's behavior.
