Abstract

This study aims to establish a series of earthquake evacuation behavior models suitable for both able-bodied and vulnerable people. Evacuations were simulated by combining established behavior models to present a singular effective method for the evaluation of regional disaster mitigation performance. For this, the building collapse rate and street-blockage range were first calculated, following which various models were established and simulated. Disaster mitigation performance was then evaluated through a comparative analysis of the simulation results. This method was applied to Kagurazaka, Tokyo, as a case study and its efficacy was demonstrated by empirical considerations.
