Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify whether and how the floor plan of rental office buildings in Japan are adapted to the shape of the sites where they are built. Four height categories are established for comparison. Firstly, whether the floor plan shapes are geometrically adapted to the site shapes is analyzed. Next, specific methods to adapt the floor plan shapes to the site shapes and elements that are adapted are analyzed. Finally, how the floor plan configurations are adapted to the shape of the sites is analyzed.
