Abstract
This study were developed through the empirical study of the Semantic Differential Method to describe how to change the sequential image of the riverscape in Osaka. The main result is : (1) The Factor Analysis has yielded two main factors composing the Semantic Space of the reiverscape in Osaka. They can be called "Visual Sight" and "Organic Sense". (2) The sequential image of the riverscape in Osaka can be discussed : a) on Okawa River; The riverscape will directly affect on the total image as the townscape is very static and calm. b) on Doutonbori River; The riverscape is apt to bury itself in the townscape, for the townscape is very oraganic and attractive. c) on Doujima and Tosabori River ; The both changes of sequential image on two rivers are very similar because of the same geographical features.
