This paper deals with the distribution of light incident from sky through lateral window onto interior surfaces of a room with a shape of rectangular prism. As for sky conditions, this paper assumes CIE overcast sky and uniform sky. This paper presents a series of equations for calculating direct illuminance at an arbitrary point on an arbitrary interior surface and luminous flux incident directly on an arbitrary interior surface. In addition, this paper presents a series of graphs that illustrate ratio of luminous flux distributed on an interior surface to total luminous flux incident inside through lateral window.

Scintillation cell is a suitable monitor for continuous radon measurement. But it has an undesirable characteristics for measurement of rapidly varying radon concentrations because the response of the monitor is late about 3 hours. Then the measured values must be corrected to get the real concentrations. We made a mathematical model to simulate the response of scintillation cell, and developed the method to identify the five parameters involved in the model to estimate real values using measured data. The validity of the model was proved experimentally.

This study was conducted to establish the design method of air changes for a turbulent flow type cleanroom. The design method is to determine the air changes as the particle concentration limit of an objective cleanliness class meets a certain value of percent, such as 99 %, of the average particle concentrations measured at each sampling location which are produced by the value of the air changes, a constant particle generation rate, air flow distribution and so on in the cleanroom.

The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effects of thermal radiation on nude human body in standing posture. Experients were conducted under the following conditions in an artificial climatic chamber. Air temperature is set to three cases (T_a=25°C, 28°C, 31°C). Wall radiator temperature is set to two cases (T_w=T_a, 40°C). Combining air temperature and wall radiator temperature were considered six thermal conditions. Humidity and air velocity condition were kept constant level of 60% RH and less than 0.2m/s. Three collegiate male subjects in standing posture were exposed to the conditions for 30 minutes after 30minutes exposure in sedentary.

The purpose of this study is to suggest an analysis method of inteior as well as exteior trafic lines of architectural planning. In order to analyze them mathematically and theoretically, analysis possibilities and methods were studied by applying indexes and the theory of graphs and networks to the "passageway structures". In the present report, we deal with an examination of the definitions, the essences and applicabilities of the indexes, and a case study of analysis of the street structures of seven underground towns. As a result, to analyze by combining some indexes is so effective for comparison that the structural differences of street networks have been clarified.

This paper aims to make research on the difference of the times, when children's bedrooms separate from parents' ones, and when each of children's bedroom isolate from brother's one, according to the planning types of dwelling units. The questionnaire on 764 samples in 17 planning types, 3LDK and 4LDK, shows such results as follows. The times for separation and isolation have relation to the number of rooms, the floor space of LDK rooms, the daylight of LDK rooms, and the number of rooms next to LDK rooms in these dwelling units.

In the U.K., the idea of conservation areas (as well as listed buildings) has developed as part of town and country planning. The designation of conservation areas, however, does not merely mean a growth in the number of features to be protected, from individual locations to larger areas, but it also indicates a change in town planning practices from top-down to bottom-up, as well as from plans being merely laid down for the public to actual public participation in planning. This structural change in the decision-making process has also invigorated the local amenity societies. The societies have come to play a vital role in safeguarding local amenities, by encouraging public participation in the planning process, much of which is related to conservation.

This study were developed through the empirical study of the Semantic Differential Method to describe how to change the sequential image of the riverscape in Osaka. The main result is : (1) The Factor Analysis has yielded two main factors composing the Semantic Space of the reiverscape in Osaka. They can be called "Visual Sight" and "Organic Sense". (2) The sequential image of the riverscape in Osaka can be discussed : a) on Okawa River; The riverscape will directly affect on the total image as the townscape is very static and calm. b) on Doutonbori River; The riverscape is apt to bury itself in the townscape, for the townscape is very oraganic and attractive. c) on Doujima and Tosabori River ; The both changes of sequential image on two rivers are very similar because of the same geographical features.

It is important to develop that children play with a group. So, the purpose of this study is to find what children's playing groups consist of, and to analyze how a type of children's playing group influences playing activities. We took playing activities and playing groups by patroul investigations. Children's groups are sorted into 8 types by the main factors (developmental stage, the number of children, structure of group members). It can be found that some kind of relationship is brought about between children's group type and playing activity.

The previous papers introduced two types of village typology : a basic village typology, using the original agricultural census data, and one using social structure and sttitudes indicators which were developed by the author. The current article presents six village models which are set by incorporating these two village typologies. Two of these models are further used as blue-prints for village revitalization. They are an agriculture-oriented village model and a life-oriented village model. The latter implies that there are villages which can no longer provide vivid community life based solely on agriculture-related activities. The study of the geographical distribution of the village models shows that when a village experiences urbanization the farmer's long-term view of himself being a full-time farmer weakens and that the economic reliance of villages on agriculture thus fades due also to increases in the non-farming population. And in the periphery of urban areas, the life-centered models can be seen in places. To conclude, it is possible to revitalize village communities through planning by making improvements where necessary based on a comparison of the village communities in question which the blue-print models.

This study aims at examining a better management system of condominiums with a case of increasing number of rental units. From this study, the fallowings are pointed out : 1. Increase of the rental units is affected by unit size, location, number of years after its construction, starting period of the rental units and reason for the increase of the rental units. 2. Problems of the increse of the rental units can be summarized into three kinds. These problems are affected by rental ratio, starting period and reason for the increase of the rental units, condominium type and management type.

In this district at first Daiyuhoden in Fukugonji temple was built in 1674. And a model of this building was Daiyuhoden (built in 1669) in Mampukuji temple which is a center of Obaku-sect temples all over Japan. There were the main buildings having no floor adopted from the age earlier than Bunsei period (1818〜30), those called "Zashiki-hondo" and those called Hoojo-type.

After studying "Sanzyou-Karasuma-dono" that was called "Hou-no-gotoki-1-tyou-no-ie" in "Tyuyuuki", I've come to the following conclusions. (1) Sanzyou-Karasuma-dono was built by Mototaka HUZIWARA about 1107. (2) This was a residence that satisfied the requirement to be used as a imperial palace. (3) This was built as "Hou-no-gotoki-1-tyou-no-ie" by Mr. Mototaka for the purpose of a gift for Sirakawain. And Mr. Mototaka turned over his that reward to Mr. Nobumiti (the sun in low). (4) After Tutimikado-Karasuma-dono was compleated about 1117, Sirakawain exchanged Sanzyou-Ohmiya-dono for Mr. Mototaka's Sanzyou-Karasuma-dono.
