Abstract
Wayfinding behavior was explored by experiments using four plans of mazes. Judging from the observed behavior patterns and reasons of choosing paths, four characteristics of wayfinding behavior were derived : memory of paths, strategy of choosing paths, tendency to keep proceeding or to turn round, and tendency to go straight or to turn frequently. Strategy of choosing paths changes according to the change of situations : meeting dead ends, returning to the passed places, proceeding to the reverse direction of the destination, and no clear change of situations.
