Some of the gaseous pollutants are pointed out as a causative agent of the sick building syndrome. Noted sources of indoor gaseous pollutants are building materials, furnitures, combustion appliances and so on. Especially, unvented combustion appliances are insisted as a noted emission source for such a strong magnitude of emissions. So quantitative information on the chemical emission has been needed. This study was conducted to determine the emission of VOCs from unvented combustion appliances. In this study, VOCs were measured by using a large scale-chamber. As a result, the emission rates of VOCs were in the range of 146 to 176mL/kg for radiant models, from 104 to 505mL/kg for convective models, and from 246 to 897mL/kg for fan heater models.
