The purposes of this study are to establish the database of the Chinese weather for building simulations and to clarify the trends of climatic change in the main Chinese cities. The hourly weather database covering the period of 1982-2001 was developed using two observational databases. The observational data were interpolated from three-hour or six-hour intervals to one-hour intervals using the Fourier Series. Solar radiation on the horizontal surface was estimated with regression equations. The changing characteristics of temperature, humidity, solar radiation were clarified. The change of heating and cooling degree-hours was also analyzed. Moreover, the relationship between Typical Meteorological Year and the changing climate was discussed.
