In recent years, school building design is diversifying according to the change of educational policy, and new ideas of architectural design to realize new educational policies have been proposed. In order to provide these new school buildings with sufficient acoustic properties as an environmental factor, the way of acoustical design should be established. For this aim, the authors have performed a field survey on a newly constructed "comprehensive curriculum" type high school which was designed with various new architectural ideas. In this paper, the results are introduced and the future problems regarding acoustic design for high school buildings are discussed.
