Focusing on the factor of sound environment, in this research we have surveyed sound levels (L_<Aeq>), subjective appraisal, audible sound types and frequency analysis along boulevard, commercial and residential areas of Naha city. The research areas covered the newly developed city, the old city and the Naha city streets during the no-traffic designated periods. From the results of the frequency analysis it was observed that during no-traffic periods the low frequency sound level falls and in turn decreases the annoyance response. In the research of the newly developed city and old city the characteristics of the results of the audible sound types also appeared in the results of the frequency analysis. It was also observed that it was possible to determine the quantity of sound environment.
