A musical practice room is a very important space for players to improve their skills. However, no architectural design guidelines for musical practice rooms exist in Japan, and the individual room is being designed based on the architect's intuition and experiences. In this study, the authors investigated the environmental performances of musical practice rooms using conjoint analysis and the appropriate reverberation for players by subjective experiments. As a result, degree of importance of the rooms was obtained and a clear tendency of preferable reverberation time dependent on the difference of types of the instruments was found.
