In order to calculate air flow rate by gravitational ventilation using the mass flow balance and the conversion formula of pressure difference and dynamic pressure, following two values at the boundary are required, (1) Windward speed, (2) Temperature profile.
1. We have shown the calculation method of (1) based on the one-dimensional flow, and (2) using a flow tube model.
2. The way to simplify the calculation process by increasing the time interval of the theoretic formula was shown.
3. We compared the model with the CFD and verified their validity. Finally, the basic characteristics of gravitational ventilation were considered.
