Abstract
The proposed methods for evaluating the damage associated with crack propagation at beam-to-column welded connections under variable amplitudes in the above paper are discussed about the following items: 1) The proposed equations for crack propagation are not compatible with the proposed equation for the cycles to breakage. 2) Different thresholds of the amplitude causing damage are introduced for different types of loading protocols only for making the predictions agreeable to the experimental results in that any rational reason for altering the threshold is not given.
