Abstract
This paper discusses the energy equilibrium of the elastic single-mass system when it resonates, and presents the simple equation of the reduction factor by damping. The paper also discusses the effect of elasto-plastic behavior by using swept wave proposed in the paper in order to excite resonance to the system, and presents the equation of the reduction factor considering that effect.
Finally, the paper shows that the time history analytical results of elasto-plastic systems excellently agree with those calculated by the proposed equation of energy and response acceleration.
