Abstract
Steel pipe ducts studied here are used as a part of columns in multi-storied buildings. The steel pipe ducts have two or four branch outlets in ceiling plenums. Experimental methods to evaluate air flow and noise characteristics of five types of the joints and the results of measurements are described. Pressure loss for the branch outlets and sound power level radiated from an outlet generaled by air flow at the joints of the steel pipe ducts are discussed.
