Abstract
This study was made on the strength of the data I and the data II. The data I was got together from the architeclural documents (architectural books and magazines published in Europe and U.S.A. etc), but the data II was made by sending 129 questionnaires to both owners and architects of the buildings about 74 examples, and getting pamphlets and drawings besides 63 answers about 35 examples. In this report we made reseachs especially on the optimum floor area of high rise office building and attached importance to studying the relation between the results and the causes of the analysis. As it is the first report of "Research for the architectural planning of high rise office building" the way of classification, the definition of terms, and the abbriviationsr are shown in it.
