Abstract
There are currently approximately 53000 psychiatric beds in general hospitals. This still represents about 25 per cent of all psychiatic beds, but the number is increasing year by year. One of the greatest benefits of it is the total care of the patient, a major concern in the general hospital. And the location of psychiatric unit in general hospitals will do a tremendous amount of good in reducing the stigma of psychiatic illness.
