This study intends to investigate the Prince Arisugawa's Residence and the Prince Kitashirakawa's Residence, which was Conder's early works. This paper describes on the progress of the construction, the actions of Conder, the engineers in charge of the Department of Public Works, the block planning, the planning of the Prince Arisugawa's Residence completed in 1885.
