Abstract
The residential environment in slums has to be improved by urban redevelopment project in many cases. The better improvement, them, could be attained by the resident's-movement for community development. In order to promate such movement, this study was intended to cortribute for the program formulation in community development by obtaining the information on people's various desires for improving their lives, finding the particularly strong desires out of them and trying to connect such desires with those for improving residential environment. Consequently, major desires in the area concerned were found to be those which are near residents themselves and easy to realized such as the nursings and education for children and those for improving residential environment, connecting the two desires is likely to be reasonable in the program formulation for community development.
