This paper discusses distribution of water in young cement mortar under drying condition. Slender cylindrical mortar specimens were made. One dimensional drying tests were carried out. In this experiment, distribution of water was measured utilizing electrical characteristics of cement mortar. Before the experiment, the relationship between electric resistance and water content of young mortar was examined. It was expressed by an empirical equation. The distribution of water in young mortar can be predicted by the proposed equation. Finally, the water diffusivity was investigated from the results of the experiment.
