In order to study the seismic resistant safety of reactor building, the behavior.of RC shear walls up to the ultimate strength under earthquake loading shall be clarified. The static and pseudodynamic tests we're performed and the mechanical properties of RC shear wall were experimentally and analytically studied. With the analytical results obtained, a macro-model for dynamic elastoplastic analysis, which was proposed and its effectiveness was discussed by comparing the proposed model with the pseudo-dynamic test results. In this paper, shaking table tests were performed to obtain the response characteristics of RC shear walls subjected to dynamic.external forces. And it is indicated that this macro-model can properly predict the test results even when it's exposed to dynamic external forces.
