Abstract
This paper reports the test method and test results of an existing wooden house built 39 years ago in Hirosaki city. Because the space of the site was small to set up the loading facilities, the reaction of the house's own footing was used to apply the load on the beams, and chain blocks were used to make driving force. The results are as follows. Although some timbers decayed and had suffered from ternite damage, the house was very strong as the lateral strength was more than 1.7 times as large as its weight. The distribution of the horizontal desplacement of the roof construction during the loading showed the force transmission of force between the wall structures through the roof structure, and the roof construction had some degree of stiffness.
