Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the evaluation of the public support for the reconstruction of the houses damaged by the 2004 Mid Niigata Earthquake. This housing reconstruction system was not adequate enough to satisfy the demands of people and local officers in rural areas damaged by the earthquakes. People want to ease regulations requirement, complicated procedures for public support and so on for rebuilding and repairing the houses.
