Abstract
Questionnaire survey for staffs whose production facilities were affected by the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake was carried to obtain basic data which are essential for promoting business continuity, actual state of business continuity and earthquake damages were clarified through the survey. Part I shows the actual state of business continuity. The following results of the survey were revealed. Although the number of offices which know business continuity is high, the number of offices which has a business continuity plan is low. The number of offices that set RTO and, start their business within RTO is low.
