The Main Hall of Kokubun-ji in Nankoku City was designated as a national treasure under the Ancient Shrines and Temples Preservation Act. During repairs undertaken in the Showa era, the form of the original temple built in the first year of Eiroku (1558) was not identified. Using analysis of the Statement of Accounts of Restoration Work, the present report clarifies that the original form of the floor height of the gejin, the renjimado at the front, the shitomi of the naijin, the back wall of the naijin and the nageshi of the naijin did not change during later reconstructions.
