A STUDY ON SMOKE BEHAVIOR IN A COMPARTMENT WITH SPRINKLER SYSTEM ACTIVATION

–Full scale compartment test using wood crib as fuel–

Abstract

The smoke behaviors are simulated without the effect of the sprinkler activation by the fire safety design. As one of the reasons, the studies on smoke behavior with sprinkler activation are hardly studied. Experiments were conducted on a full-scale test using wood crib as fuel, and the following results were obtained; the heat release rate decreased by effect of water spray. But the burning was continued in some experiments. The temperature and CO₂ density of the upper layer was decreased, and the lower layer was raised by effect of water spray.
