Abstract

The Fujimaki’s main house was built about the 18th century. This house uses principal rafter with cantilever at main part. There was similar instance at the Ohkubo’s main house and the Satoh’s main house in Niigata prefecture. This method can be considered a technology that was seen until the mid-19th century in the region.
