Abstract
In this study, it aimed to clarify about the housing problem and the environmental improvement at Yau Lai Estate, in order to grasp the present condition and the measure of HKHA public rental housing in Hong Kong. The aging-residents problem, the SARS problem and the environmental problem are the big issues in the newly developed project, the redevelopment project and the large-scale repair project in HKHA public rental housing in recent years. The measure for the universal design to the aging-residents problem, the hygiene supervision and living manners to the SARS problem and the energy saving, noise, and tree planting to the environmental problem have been taken in HKHA public rental housing.
