EFFORTS OF CHIBA UNIVERSITY TEAM TO THE SOLAR DECATHLON EUROPE 2014: DEVELOPMENT OF NET-ZERO-ENERGY AND PREFABRICATED HOUSE

Abstract

Chiba University has participated to the international solar housing competition called the Solar Decathlon Europe 2014. This paper reports the development process and result of the proposed net-zero-energy prefabricated house named Renai House. This paper consists of four phases. The first phase is the project planning. The second phase is a design of the house including HVAC system, lighting, and appliances. The third phase is an exportation of the house. The final phase is results of construction and measurement at the solar village and reports a comparison with other countries’ houses.
