Abstract
The aim of this research was to examine the construction process and the building form of the ordinary and higher elementary school for Japanese residents in Suzhou, modern China. This school was established in a rented a Chinese style building in 1924. Later, the school built two new buildings. The first a school building had the house for teacher, and the second was only a school building. They were wooden and brick masonry buildings. Materials and technologies of building often adapted the Chinese style. These new buildings were built based on Japanese school building standard of Meiji era.
