STUDY ON MAKING THE IDEAL IMAGE AND ROADMAP FOR LOW CARBON CITY

– A case study of Participatory Workshop with Backcasting Method in Tsuchiura City –

Abstract

This paper reports a Participatory Workshop held by a Researchers group including author with Backcasting Method in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It aims to explore the policy of future urban planning as we may face the Global warming and Super Aging society. We visually showed the participants our research, discuss about their ideal city and made the roadmap. The result was clarified there were the important policies regarding not in the short-term plan but long term issues. It also revealed Backcasting Method for future city is very effective to clarify the needs of policies and the priority of them.
