Abstract
The aim of this paper is to clarify the number and distribution of silk industrial heritage and to understand the design character of silk fabric factories in Johana. Major results are as follows: 1) In the past, there were various building use which were related with silk industrial through the whole area of Johana district. 2) Recently, 20 silk fabric factories remains in Johana. We found 3 types of facade design which are extracted from these factories. 3) Facade design of silk fabric factories is different according to the periods when it was built.
