Abstract
It is common to use the Swedish weight sounding test as the ground investigation for small buildings. This investigation method had a problem not to be able to identify the kind of soil, but we reconfirmed the importance of the soil sampling from frequent occurrence of the liquefaction damage with the small scale building by the Tohoku earthquake in 2011.
The authors developed the new boring technology that a soil sample to confirm stratum continually by using a vibration drill could be gathered easily. Here, we will report a new device and new investigation techniques that we developed.
